Dear Pet Lovers,
My name is Chrisi
Darrington and my husband, Randy, and I offer pet sitting
services in Redding, CA. It started out as services I offered
alone, but as I am just one person, there came a time when I
needed help and after meeting Randy, they were plenty happy to
have him care for their pets as well.
In fact, during
the entire summer of 2006, Randy and I stayed in Shingletown
together caring for 4 Shiloh Shepherds. It was actually a
wonderful vacation for us. :)
There are two
things that we hear most often from our clients.
One thing is how
relaxed and comforted they feel while away due to knowing Randy
and I truly do love their pets and enjoy pet sitting. It is
important to know your pets are safe when you are away.
The second thing
is how calm we both are. This actually doesn't surprise me
because people say this about us even when we are not caring for
their pets. Randy is very old fashion, and often people say he
was born in the wrong century as he's very much a Gentleman in
every sense of the word. Most people think of pet sitting care
provided by women, but believe me, if you meet with Randy, you
will instantly feel just as comfortable about him caring for
your pets as you will with me.
For those with the
larger breed dogs...
I grew up with Great Danes as a child and
really have had no fear of dogs. Growing up with big dogs has helped
me to understand that "big" doesn't mean aggressive. We also had many different cats. What was missing, for
me, was other critters. I would have liked to own hamsters,
guinea pigs, rabbits, frogs, lizards, you name it, I would have
enjoyed caring for them. But, since my parents didn't share my
enthusiasm for the smaller critter world, I enjoyed drawing and
painting them instead.
Once I was on my own, I had any type of critter my heart and
apartment would allow. I've had rats, hamsters, guinea pigs,
parakeets, cockatiels, and of course, dogs and cats. My brother
had an iguana that I helped to care for and my son has had a few
lizards as well. For a few years I had a salt water fish tank that I maintained.
It was beautiful and healthy. Then we had to move and a salt
water tank just wasn't part of the move so reluctantly we had to
sell it.
I think I've said enough about me here. My
goal wasn't to tell my life story, or "our" life stories, but to
help you understand who we are and help you get to know us a
little bit before you require our services.
Just for fun, I've posted a few of my drawings for you
to see if you like. You can
view
them here.
